President's Message

Dear all,

I am delighted as well as honoured to take over as President of the Karnataka Chapter of Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists from my predecessor, Dr Ravikumar H N for the year 2019-2020. I thank him for his commendable job and his contributions to the Association during his tenure and all the members of the Executive Committee of 2018-2019. I am inspired by their commitment to KCIAPM. Indeed the growth of KCIAPM and what its today has been propelled collectively by the individuals and all the past presidents and past members of the KCIAPM and Executive Committee. I look forward to continuing this important work towards fulfilling the mission of KCIAPM.

To take the work of KCIAPM forward, I am fortunate to be associated with a wonderful Secretary, Dr Vijay Shankar and the committed Executive members and members of the sub- committee. Let’s all join hands in this endeavour and we are fully responsible for the calibre of the various academic activities, slide seminars, and CMEs which are held under the aegis of KCIAPM and their timely venture.

The role of pathologists as teachers, diagnostician and researcher all in one is quite demanding in this exciting era of transition in diagnostic medicine. In this respect, we welcome thoughts and suggestions from all members to increase the strength of KCIAPM in its academic activities and its membership as well as devise ways and means by which programs of the KCIAPM can meet the ever increasing needs of the new generation of pathologists to improve overall patient care.
