May 2014 : Report of KCIAPM Slide Seminar

The Slide Seminar was conducted on Sunday 25th May at Pathology Lecture Hall of Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute.The slides were contributed by RV Metropolis Lab and moderated by Dr Ravikumar HN , Dr Vani Ravikumar and Dr Santosh KV.

The Slide Seminar was conducted on Sunday 25th May at Pathology Lecture Hall of Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute. The program commenced at 10 am , after a breakfast  at 9.30am. A total of 102 delegates attended , most of them being PGs of Pathology from various medical colleges across Karnataka and a few Consultants/ Teaching Faculty. A total of 8 cases in Histopathology were discussed by 4 speakers from  RV Metropolis Lab, namely Dr Ravikumar H.N. , Dr Vani Ravikumar , Dr Santosh K.V  & Dr Sujatha .The cases were assorted – breast , Skin , soft Tissue , Thyroid/parathyroid  and were selected from the archives of RV Metropolis.

Prior to this, forty set of slides were prepared by RV Metropolis, which were distributed to all the medical colleges across Karnataka . One case was allotted to each medical college and the respective PGs were given an opportunity to present the case in the Slide Seminar.

 Dr Ashok from Adichunchungiri Institute of Medical Sciences, was chosen as the Best Presenter and given a Certificate as well as Cash Prize, by the hosts.

Dr Ravikumar H.N. also gave a brief talk on Prenatal Screening for Congential Anomalies, with an emphasis on Double Marker/ Triple Marker etc, which  the audience  listened to , in rapt attention.

Finally, Vote of thanks was given by the treasurer of KCIAPM, Dr Santosh K.V.

The students expressed the need for more of such slide seminars.
